This course is designed for hospital nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, cardiology, coders, billers, charge master managers (or hospital finance personal), technologists and physicians who provide cardiac PET services and are also responsible for administration and billing or charge description masters (CDM) activities. This session is focused on current coding, coverage and payment policies specific for Cardiac PET services. Hospital Outpatient Payment System (HOPPS) policy and rules are highlighted as well as proper charge master maintenance for Cardiac PET services. Attendees will understand how charges on the charge master are used by Medicare in rate setting. References and resources will be provided so the participants understand where the most current information and answers to important questions can be located.
